“So be patient. Verily the promise of Allah is true, and let not those who have no certainty of faith, discourage you from conveying Allah’s Message.”
Here man is not only being to by Allah that there will be persons in every society that will attempt to discourage those who choose to obey His commands, but also provides the definition of patience. Allah is saying in this application, patience is to endure the discomfort brought by those who are not as strong in faith as others. He states that they will be rewarded due to their faith that causes them to patiently persevere out of obligation to Him. This is what it means to do something merely for the sake of Allah alone. He tells mankind to continue the work He describes as pleasing to Him. This is not only an example of patience, but also a minor form of struggle which re-affirms that He created man to be in a constant struggle in order to succeed in all areas.
